They don't call it "Cover Girl" for nothing!

Kareena Kapoor is definitely on the "hot" list at the moment! This gorgeous 28-year old star is part of Bollywood royalty- her grandfather is the late Raj Kapoor, her father is actor Ranbir Kapoor and mother is retired actress Babita. Plus, her older sister Karishma Kapoor has been acting in films for over 15 years. Did I forget to mention that Kareena is dating the hottest guy in Bollywood- Saif Ali Khan? Kareena is definitely on cloud nine these days and it's not just thanks to her rocking career or love life- it's thanks to the right makeup products.
As you can clearly see, Kareena has (thankfully) made some beauty decisions. A lot of the compliments she has been receiving on her great looks are due to a little thing called bronzer, the right concealer, eye liner, fake lashes and of course a good night's sleep.
Here are a few tricks that Kareena used to enhance her looks and a few products that might do the trick for you too!

For the skin:

Notice the large areas of redness all around Kareena's face (in her cheeks, on her chin and nose) as well as the pigmentation under her eyes? One of my most favourite beauty indulgences helps correct these problems with one palette- Makeup For Ever's Camouflage Cream Palette.

Kareena would use Palette #1 (N1) for her skin tone. The green colour (on the extreme right) is to be used to counteract any redness. The fourth colour (with a large amount of peach pigment) is perfect for dark under eye circles when used with a concealer brush such as MAC's concealer brush #242 . As a South Asian girl, I have looked everywhere for the right coverage concealer and this is by far the best product that I have found to even out my skin tone without that heavy, cakey feel or look. Makeup For Ever's Camouflage Cream Palette in No. 1 is good for fair skin, but there are other palettes for medium (No. 2) and darker complexions (No.3) as seen below. Just so you know, you can buy individual concealer pots directly at the Makeup For Ever counter or at Sephora. This way you can avoid buying unnecessary products that you will not use.
Bollywood Makeup Whiz (BMW) Tips:
* This Camouflage palette has best results when it is applied before your foundation. Usually, many women make the mistake of applying their concealer first and then wiping away all of the coverage by adding foundation. However, this product is an exception- by adding this product first to the face, you still get full coverage but you notice a lighter texture.
* Always set your concealer and/or foundation with a light dusting of translucent powder. This will set your makeup and avoid any rub-offs. Dusting translucent powder throughout the day keeps your look fresh.

Katrina's Bridal Look

With over 10 Hindi films under her belt and over 7 more for the upcoming year, 25 year old Katrina Kaif is well on her way to becoming the next big star of Bollywood.
Her exotic global looks are thanks to her Kashmiri father and British mother. It's no wonder that Katrina was chosen as a model by 14.
This bridal makeup look is proof that Indians are moving away from the traditional darker makeup and are creating a more natural ,"prettier" face. The best part about this look is that it is universally flattering (pink mouth, flushed cheeks, sparkly, champagne eyes with eyeliner and lashes galore).
Here's how to get Katrina's look:
On the eyes:
1. Prime eyes with MAC's Painterly Paint Pot all over the lid.
2. Using MAC's shader brush, gently pat MAC's Gleam eye shadow (e/s) all over lid until the crease.
3. Pat MAC's Ricepaper eye shadow on the brow bone to add sparkle and MAC's Retrospeck e/s to the inner corners of the eye (this creates a bright, wide-eyed look).
4. Use MAC's Technakohl Liner in Photogravure or Graphblack onto the upper lash line as well as the lower, outer third portion of the lash line.
Optional: For added drama and to create the illusion of longer lashes, use MAC's Lash #3 (fake lashes) and add two coats of mascara to blend into your own lashes.
On the cheeks:
1. Use MAC's Blushcreme in Ladyblush for a rosy, dewy glow just along the cheekbones in small, circular motions using either your fingers or a large angled contour brush like MAC Brush # 168.
2. Above the cheekbones, use a highlighter such as MAC's Mineralize Powder in Soft & Gentle. Also swipe powder above upper lip, on chin and straight down the front of the nose for a natural glow.
On the lips:
Katrina has created a soft mouth that has lustre but not too much sparkle that would be created by a gloss. I would use MAC's Lip liner in Spice and softly blend in the edges to avoid harsh lines. Then fill in the lips with MAC's Gleam Lipstick.

Bipasha Basu's Daring Eye Look

Today, Bipasha Basu is a leading actress and beauty icon for millions of Bollywood fans. Her exotic Bengali looks and fearless attitude towards experimenting with makeup trends make her a constant source of inspiration both on and off the fashion runways.

This inverse cat-eye look is an odd choice for Bipasha, but she does carry off this look thanks to lots of confidence. I do like the fact that she has kept the rest of her face very fresh and natural. However, this makeup look is not for the faint of heart.

The best possible product to create this cat-eye look without smudging your liner and achieve the dreaded "raccoon" look is to use "Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner in Midnight Black". For a precise application, use Smashbox's Creme Eye Liner Brush #9.

Use the thin tip of the brush to create the inner winged look. Start with a thin line and slowly add more liner to create a thicker more dramatic effect.

(Tip: Try to avoid this look if you have small or deep-set eyes! This look will only make eyes look smaller!)

Unforgettable Rekha!

What we love most about the ever-youthful Rekha is that her style has remained consistently classic and authentically Indian. This can also be seen through her makeup.

Rekha's look is known as the "signature look" by many makeup artists- the signature look is created when the lips are a classic red, and the rest of the face is relatively natural and "unmade-up".

Here are some products that you can use to create the same look.

For the eyes:

1. Use an eye primer such as a MAC's Painterly Paintpot all over the lid. Set with light translucent powder.

2. Use MAC's e/s in Bisque all over the entire lid and brow bone.

3. Pat over the entire lid up to and slightly above the crease of the eye in MAC's Omega e/s.

4. Start at the inner corner of each eye, create a gradually thicker line using MAC's LiquidLast Liner in Point Black on the upper lash line.

(Tip: To create the "winged" effect at the outer corners, gently flick your applicator brush upwards and outwards)

5. Use an eyelash curler to open the eyes up- I would strongly recommend Shiseido's Eyelash Curler- it's the best one on the market and picks up even the tiniest of lashes.

6. Sweep at least 2 coats of lengthening mascara on both the upper and lower lash line for a dramatic eye.

For the face:

1. Rekha has obviously used a foundation and concealer!

2. In order to create a dewy finish without looking "oily" (ugh!) I would recommend a light dusting of translucent powder followed by MAC's Fix + spray- it allows you to use full coverage without look overly made up and cakey, which lots of foundation and powder can do.

3. On the cheeks, Rekha seems to have used a brownish colour blush. MAC's Blushcreme in "Uncommon" would look give a warm rosy glow. Simply pat the colour using your fingers on your cheekbone and blend well using circular motions.

For the Lips:

1. Moisturize and then gently blot lips.

2. Outline the entire lip using MAC's Cremestick Liner in "Red Enriched".

3. A classic red mouth needs MAC's Lipstick in "Russian Red". This colour was made famous by Madonna because she wore it almost exclusively for years. If you find this colour a bit too startling, MAC's Lipstick in "Ruby Woo" is a colour great on women with cooler undertones.

Attractive Girl, Unattractive Makeup

This just goes to show that no matter how gorgeous you may be- even "Miss World" commits makeup blunders.
The problem is that Aishwarya's garish purple-blue eyeshadow is competing with the colour of her blue eyes. In theory, this look should work because she is using only one pop of colour while keeping the rest of her face relatively neutral.
A better suggestion would be to use a more sheer wash of colour in a similar hue. For example, using MAC's "Digit" eye shadow (e/s) would create a similar but much more flattering look on this Bollywood beauty.

How to Get Deepika's Natural Look

Here's the gorgeous Deepika Padukone! Her exotic features and glowing skin create a flawless canvas for this easy-to-follow look. Since Deepika modeled before acting, she knows how to create a fresh, simple look while maintaining the Glam Factor.

The following colours are all by MAC Cosmetics, unless mentioned.

On the eyes:

1. Blend "Rubinesque" Paintpot by MAC all over the eye as a base.
2. Pat "Naked Lunch" eye shadow (e/s) over the entire lid up to the crease.
3. Pat "Arena" e/s directly over top the lid and slightly above the crease.
4. Apply "Ricepaper" e/s on the brow bone using #242 Shader brush.
4. Line the upper lash line with Fluidline in "Blacktrack" using an angled liner brush.
5. Use remaining liner on your brush to run over the outer half of the lower lash line.
6. Generously apply 2 coats of black mascara to both the upper and lower lashes.

On the face:

1. Prime skin for a silkier texture by using MAC's "Prep + Prime Skin" facial primer.
2. Apply a Mineralize Satinfinish foundation in the colour closest to your skin tone (this
foundation is light on the skin and gives an ultra-flattering dewy finish to skin).
3. Set foundation with a translucent powder using a fluffy brush.
4. Contour just below your natural cheekbones using "Wedge" e/s (this colour is great for fair
to medium skin tones). Use circular motions for a streak-free look using #168 Large
Angled Contour Brush.
5. Using the same Large Angled contour brush, place Mineralize Blush Duo in "Intenso" onto
the apples of your cheeks.

For the lips:

1. Gently feather lip liner in "Stripdown" over entire upper and lower lip. Apply small amount
of lip balm and pat dry before this step in order to avoid dry, flaky skin.

2. Using a lip brush, apply "Velvet Teddy" lipstick over entire lip.

3. Apply "Turkish Delight" lip gloss by NARS Cosmetics over entire lip area. (Tip: In
order to maintain that glossy lip, don't press lips together).
